We are thriving in exciting times! The rate of technology change is accelerating with thousands of ideas, apps and innovations bubbling up to help organisations achieve intelligence which creates huge impact in the way organisations conduct their business. So what does 2015 have in store for us?
As Gil pres of forbes predicts,
"Worldwide IT and telecommunications spending will grow 3.8% in 2015 to more than $3.8 trillion. Nearly all of this spending growth and one third of total spending will be focused on new technologies such as mobile, cloud, big data analytics and the Internet of Things."
Gartner analysis also suggests computing, The Internet of Things, 3D Printing,Cloud/Client Computing and Advanced, Pervasive and Invisible Analytics as the future. These predictions converges into three main areas : Mobile Computing, Cloud and Data analytics. Lets look at the these three main areas.
Be it mobile apps, wearble technology or context rich application over the cloud, mobile computing would be the primary focus of 2015. Computing will move away from static models to changing enviroments where APIs are enabling easy configuration to cloud services. Mobile apps have become the official channel to drive content and services to consumers, said Brian Blau, research director at Gartner. Due to higher demands the mobile app development would push the boundaries of application development.
As mobile computing meets cloud computing, centrally coordinated applications & data that can be delivered to any device will continue to grow. Through 2014, more than 60 percent of IT adoption of the cloud was to redeploy current applications and a shift is already taking place to work beyond that to exploit private and hybrid cloud techniques.
While the big data isnt necessarily the most important thing, analytics will continue to grow propelled by the Internet of Things, creating large pools of data. Every app will need to be an analytic app. Gartner asserts that companies should virtualize storage and deduplication, evaluate all data inputs to get rid of what isn't necessary, and then segment and prioritize what's left.

It is vital to consider these areas while automating business process or upgrading the current system in 2015. HTML5, Angular JS, MVC & Java technologies will be the front runner of 2015 for application development be it web or mobile apps.
