4 Custom Software Application Trends for 2016

Making predictions about the future of technology can be extremely difficult, especially when change is the only constant factor. However, there have been a few overarching themes in 2015 that we believe will easily carry over and grow in 2016. As a Technology company we keep a tab on whats up and whats down, because as technology evolves, so do the processes and methods that revolve around it. Lets take a look at the top trends that we expect to rule this year.

1. Mobile :

2015 saw the revolution in mobile computing, more and more online transactions, be it personal or official happens via mobile. As the customers are moving towards mobile, its vital that business too cater for mobile users. We are seeing revolution in mobile application development, as the demand increases legacy application and desktop only applications find it difficult to support the needs of customer.  While new development for mobile would still increase, there would be a significant raise in desktop applications conversion to mobile, or rather desktop based services would be suited to go mobile.

2. User Experience:

I am partial when it comes to design. But in all honesty we can see how design makes a huge difference in making or breaking a application.  With constant innovation on the raise with respect to how the applications are written, User interfaces have evolved quite dramatically last year. How simple gestures and intuitive actions can be converted to best user experience is the need for the hour. Software Service providers cant get away with average application design anymore. Even the best of functionality are forgone without the appropriate design to support it.

3. Internet of things

Thanks to high speed mobile networks and millions of sensors from security doors to self servicing kiosks, IOT ( Internet of things) has already made its mark in 2015. This year the demand for communication between these devices will even be more. Custom applications needs to built to make sure these devices pass the most authentic and crucial data which can then be made sense at bigger perspective.  Controller level programs and APIs will be a good place to start to get in the groove of IOT.

4. Big Data & Analytics

"Less is more" saying doesn't apply when it comes to big data. Data from various sources and of huge volume can now be processed, stored and analysed easily. While most analytics software are providing much needed knowledge about data to businesses,  there is still human intervention is needed when it comes to understanding data. Data scientists are trying to understand industry specific patterns and find logic which can be installed into these analytics to have more accurate prediction of big data.  We would see the magic unfold this year with more and more analytics software competing for this space.

All of these things affect the way we perform business with customers. Old practises of software development no longer fit the needs of the modern day business and considering how important a role application development plays, in the business world, only those who keep up with the changing trends will have the competitive advantage. Enterprises should start plan for not just revamp of old software, but also how the new custom software can be built to suit the environment and trend to drive efficiency in the business.
